Maple Rosemary Breakfast Sausage
I love breakfast sausage, but I was getting really tired of the freezer burned ones that you buy in a box at the store, so I made these! I'm kinda bummed I didn't make them with pork but I only had ground turkey at home and didn't want to make a special trip. It's also really hard to find organic, clean pork products (if any of you know where to find some, comment below!) Inspiration for this recipe came from my constant pursuit of finding easy healthy breakfasts that don't take half the morning to prepare. You can freeze the uncooked patties and then thaw and cook them on future mornings!

  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp grass fed butter
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients except butter together in a large bowl.
  2. To easily form the sausage patties, rinse your hands in cold water. Use an ice cream scooper to extract sausage from the bowl. Shape each portion into disks 2 1/2-inch wide and 1/2 inch thick. At this point you can do 3 things: 1.Cook the patties and eat them right away 2.Cook the patties and freeze them 3.Freeze the uncooked patties (put a piece of parchment paper between each patty so they don't stick together.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, and add the butter. Fry the sausages on both sides until completely cooked through and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
