Seared Ahi Bowl
This was my attempt to make a poke bowl at home. I couldn't get my hands on any sushi grade ahi, so we decided to sear it instead. It's never 100% satisfying when you try recreate one of your favorite dishes at home, but this one was pretty darn close.

Ingredients
Salad Base
  • 4 cup Mixed greens
  • 4 cup cooked jasmine rice
Salad Mix ins
  • Radishes
  • Cucumber
  • cilantro
  • Cabbage
  • green onion
  • red onion
  • avocado
Spicy Mayo
  • 1/2 cup avocado mayo
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp Coconut aminos
Ahi + Marinade
  • 1 lb Ahi tuna steak
  • 2 tbsp Coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp Ground garlic
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp Chili pepper
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions
Salad
  1. Chop mix ins and mix all desired mix ins into mixed greens and jasmine rice.
Spicy Mayo
  1. Mix all ingredients until well combined.
Ahi
  1. Mix marinade ingredients and pour over tuna steak. Allow to sit for a few hours..... or if you're impatient, let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan to high heat with coconut oil. Once hot, add the marinaded ahi and cook for 1 minute on each side. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then cut against the grain into strips and add to salad.
